Finding high interest text with repeated lines and self-selected topics might be a big challenge for educators as students get older. Therapists, teachers and others have been using song lyrics to support reading development for years. This website lists the lyrics and midi versions of hundreds of songs. With the use of text reading software (i.e. Kurzweill or Wynn) the words can be highlighted and synced to the pace of the music

Our theme has been the ocean for the past several weeks. The Marine Science Institute (www.sfbaymsi.org) sent 2 scientists to teach us about sea creatures. It was so great—especially the Leopard Shark!
