The government disaster preparedness site, Ready America, has recently added information specifically pertaining to individuals with disabilities and other special needs. The message of this site is that the effects of a disaster range from inconvenience to devastation and by planning ahead you can minimize the impact for you and your family.

The Dolch Word Lists comprise 220 words frequently found in written texts. The words on the lists tend to defy "sounding-out" strategies, yet quick recognition greatly enhances reading ability. There are innumerable suggestions on the web for practice of these words. This website features student drawings and recordings illustrating individual words. This type of activity may be memorable and engaging for your students.

AAC and All that Jazz
Help support AAC communities affected by hurricanes in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas on February 21 - 23, 2008 in New Orleans. Work with USSAAC members, as well as professionals and families from affected areas before, during and after the conference.
