How It's Made - by the Science Channel
http://science.discovery.com/fansites/howitsmade/howitsmade.html

My very favorite segment on Sesame Street was when the showed how they toothpaste got into the tube. Now the Science Channel has a whole show devoted to just that kind of information. Check out the website to see videos and for times when you can watch the show on the Discovery Channel.

How would you like to have a Junie B. or Nate the Great book club in your classroom? The Random House teacher's site has all the materials you will need. Additionally, reading guides, thematic information, and graded reading materials are available.

What's New at Bridge?
AAC by the Bay
http://www.bridgeschool.org/aacbythebay/index.html

There is still time to register for AAC by the Bay. The conference will focus on literacy, assessment and the impact of visual impairments on the education of users of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Plenary speakers include Dr. Beth Foley, Linda Burkhart, Dr. Karen Erickson and Deborah Tierney Kruezer.

This is an amazing opportunity for professionals, families and those interested in learning more about AAC. You may register on-line or at the time of the conference.

Open Labs
http://www.bridgeschool.org/outreach/outreach_openlabs.html

October 6 / December 1 / March 1 / May 3, 9:00am to 3:30pm
Open Labs are an opportunity for professionals, students, and families to have hands-on time with current assistive technology. Members of The Bridge School staff provide information and guidance to help explore a wide variety of materials and tools. In addition to unstructured exploration each Open Lab provides lectures, discussions and hands-on workshops focusing on specific topics led by members of the Outreach and Transition Programs. Assistive Technologies including AAC, Software, Switches and Environmental Controls tools are available at every Open Lab.
