2014 AAC by the Bay Conference

February 27, 28, & March 1, 2014

San Jose, California

The 2014 AAC by the Bay Conference will focus on issues and strategies related to education and communication of users of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This year's conference themes will be language and learning, mobility, advocacy and social justice, Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) and its impact on learning, and effective patient provider communication.

Plenary sessions feature internationally and nationally known leaders in AAC including: Aileen Arai, Sarah Blackstone, Barbara Collier, John Costello, Caitlin Daly, Lateef McLeod, Janelle Moynihan, Nicki Nelson, Holly Peartree, Christine Roman-Lantzy, Martine Smith, and Christine Wright-Ott.

This AAC by the Bay Conference will be the first time ever that we will produce a live web cast of the entire conference proceedings. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsor, CISCO, in addition to our on-site participants, we can offer this unique experience to 14 registered off-site hosts throughout the world.

This year's AAC By the Bay Conference is honored to celebrate Jackie Brand for the contributions she has made to our profession, to our families and to our children by awarding her a Lifetime Achievement Award. Our field is populated with strong parents who fight unselfishly for, not only their children, but for all children with disabilities. Jackie exemplifies the dedication and commitment it takes to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to be successful.
