Please return to this section of the site often, as we develop a library of resources, activities and ideas to make classroom planning and development an easier process for all of us. Including children with communication difficulties and technology needs in a dynamic and interactive classroom is a challenge, one that we have been grappling with for over a decade. We begin by sharing a summary of our curriculum guide, outlining our philosophies for each area. Developing a curriculum that meets the needs of our children who use AAC/AT requires an interdisciplinary effort. Teachers, speech-language pathologists, an assistive technologist, a vision specialist, a neuropsychologist, and a physical therapist all collaborate together to bring important components into the teaching environment of the Bridge School. You can download a detailed version of the curriculum guide, which includes broad goals and sample activities for each area.
Come back soon as we begin to post a collection of:
Lesson Plans: current Bridge School classroom activities Collaborative Classroom Activities: multi-classroom activities, an interchange between students at Bridge School and other classrooms across the country
Kids at Work: examples of ways to adapt curriculum and activities in the regular education environment to ensure participation
